Tonight I am...

...watching Pride & Prejudice.
Although I may have a horrible sun-burned face, this movie will never lose it's charm to me. :) I recently finished reading the book, and found it a very delightful read. You all might not have known this, but I absolutely adore Jane Austen's books! (a point which I feel sure of that a few certain readers of mine share as well). :) The movies are especially enjoyable when the rain is sweeping about your house, and you find yourself at a loss of what to do. My mother and I, and occasionally a few others of the Morsel brood, love watching Sense and Sensibility while snuggled up in a warm blanket. :)
Wishing all of you were here to enjoy this with me!
Yours Truly,
~Hannah~
P.S.
Talking about rainy day movies, do any of you have a favorite?

Oh, and I absolutely hated to break up the lovely chain of comments that my latest post was bringing, but I simply had to. :)

Oh I LOVE all of the Jane Austen books and movies!

I have read Pride and Prejudice at least 3 times!!!! ;)

Have you seen Wives and Daughters?

That is really good! And of course all of the Charles Dickens ones...:D

I hate to see our old group of comments go. :( That was so fun! :)

I haven't seen all the Jane Austen movies yet (just Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Sense and Sensibility), but the ones I have seen I simply adore!! I'm reading Sense and Sensibility now and love it as well! :) I love how the culture was back then-men treating women as ladies(opening doors for them, etc.), everyone bowing to one another, them calling each other Miss so-and-so and Mr. so-and-so. How much we've lost over the years!!

Hannah and Haleigh,

I responded to your most recent comments on my blog! :)

Blessings to you both, dear sisters!

Meg

Hannah,
I'm now visiting your humble abode. You need to write us a masterpiece since you are a "regular Shakespeare". Sound familiar?
I'm so sorry I haven't gotten you the questions for the book you borrowed for history. I'll send the questions with Daddy on Wednesday.

In Christ alone,
~Beth~

Meg, yeah I know, I love them too! And don't you just wish everyone was like that today? :)

Beth, thanks for commenting! and I appreciate it greatly that you took the time to visit my blog, and I hope you will continue to write here in our little Pickwick Portfolio!

Don't worry about the questions! Just get them to me whenever you can.

Oh, and just for fun, have I "Taken my sensebilities a little too far"? (sound familiar?)

Yours Ever So Truly,
Jo

P.S.
Does anyone know what Amy has been up to? Goodness, I certainly hope that child hasn't been getting into trouble... :D lol

Miss Rebekah Ann S. said...

I definitely do, Jo!

And dear Bethy is so right-you are a regular Shakespear, Jo dear! :)

Well, you know how our dear Amy is with her antics! :) I believe she's been very busy with school lately. Also, this is the day that she, Laurie and that other boy :) have music lessons.

Till later,

Margaret

Too true Meg. I forgot all about those lessons, and school, of course! What was I thinking? :) I just hope she keeps herself from trouble and doesn't come home with scarred hands. Remember what happened with the limes? :D

Toodloo!

Yours Affectionately,
Jo

Miss Rebekah Ann S. said...

Indeed I do! :) We definitely don't want to relive that lime incident!!! Poor Amy. Although, the dear shouldn't have done what she did!

I do miss her, though, and hope she will come here again soon!

Love you, Jo!

You know, I think a lot of the blame for how females are treated today can be laid at our feet! We don't look, act, dress or seem hardly any different that males do a lot of the time. We've lost our distinct femininity, so men don't view us as ladies. If we acted and dressed more like ladies, I think we would discover that we'd be treated more like ladies too!

*Eagerly awaiting a birth announcement!!* :)

Jo dear you have not taken your sensebilities too far, and I am convinced the dear child has reformed and will not repeat the lime incident as long as she is not provoked by the other girls.

Meg dear by the "other boy" do you mean Mr. Brooke? Or is there some other boy that I can't think of?

~Beth~

I do believe you're right, Beth dear. I sure hope so anyway!

Yes, I meant Mr. Brooke, although I wasn't positive if the other young man Amy went to lessons with today was for sure him or not. ;)

Meg, I will be sure to keep you posted! You know, I find myself telling mother-dear the same thing almost everyday... "Mom, you had better have that baby today!"(but of course you know that never happens...) :)

Beth, you are such a dear! I am so glad that you have decided to participate in the Pickwick Portfolio with us. ")

Til' we comment again,
Jo

I can definitely understand that, Jo! I'll pray that the Lord would grant you patience! Oh, I'm just so very excited for you!! :)

Yes, Bethy, it is great to have you with us!

You are all so sweet! Bringing up old faults and childish things that should have been buried long ago. You know I've become quite a lady since then! On acount of my non-commenting, you know my artistic talents keep me so busy and Laurie also keeps me very busy! "That other boy" also pins my nerves against the wall! But you all have nothing to worry about! I love you all!

Meg,How's your planning going for you journey north? Are you going to use our beloved "going aboady" trunk?

Josephine, any news? Please say " Why yes there is Amy darling!"

Bethy, How is your darling little Emma doing? Too cute!

Always your sweet,
Amy

P.S.
Meg dear, do you not remember that you are the one who gave the money for the dredful limes?!
