Pictures anyone?? (edited)

MyMy! It feels like a lifetime since I posted a REAL post here. It's so nice to be back. :)
My day started later than I would have prefered. Ugh, don't you just hate that? Isn't it awefully annoying when your plans slip as the morning comes and your alarm goes off promptly....only to be shut off by a hasty hand? "Snooze"..... 10 minutes later...... "snooze"..... etc. until it has been a complete hour since it first went off. Actually, I think I may have just shut it off after a while. Oops! Oh well, that happens sometimes... :)

Where are my pictures for this post? .....humm... I seem to have misplaced them. Wait-no I haven't. They are sitting up on the shelf stored neatly in the memory card. I just misplaced the cord used to transfer them from the card to here, on this dear little laptop. Oops again! Sorry y'all.... I'll post them asap. But for your pleasure, I am going to include some photos from a few of the sweet movies I've watched lately... or movies I simply adore. :)

(listed in no particular order.)

Sense & Sensibility (1995)

Love Comes Softly (2003)

Pride & Prejudice (2005)

Anne of Green Gables (1985)

BBC's Emma (2009)

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) :)

The Young Victoria (2009)

The Patriot (2000)

And then there are so many more as well. I could go on and on and on and on......

...but I won't. :) Tell me, do we share any favorites? Like this one. Or maybe THIS one?

Haha-or maybe even THESE??

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Has anyone read the book "Persuasion" by Jane Austen? I recently finished it, and I must say though it isn't hardly my favorite of the books she has written, I really enjoyed it! I also kind of like the movie, but still think P&P is my favorite. :)
About the "new look".... do you like it? Is it too bold? I actually kind of love it. Refreshing, don't you think?
Excellent post! I could go on and on. :) And I love that you started it with S&S....I just watched that again Saturday. Excellent movie! :)
Hey, have you seen or read "Wives and Daughters"?
Yay! A post! :) And what wonderful pictures...:) I do believe we love all the same movies. S&S and P&P are splendid! And you know how much I adore Les Miserables! But, I just realized that you're missing a very, very important one. Can you guess what I'm speaking of? :) haha
See you Sunday, or maybe sooner! :)
Haha-Haleigh... I thought of it AS SOON as I published this post. Or at least I think it's the one your speaking of. :) If not this one, but another newer favorite of yours... I will not post THAT one. Lol! Let's see if I can do something about that... :)
Rebekah dear, I've heard of "Wives & Daughters", but haven't seen or read it. Have you? Do tell me about it! :)
Absolutely love Anne of Green Gables, too..."blue puff sleeves!" ;)
I had first heard of "Wives and Daughters" a few years ago on a blog, I think it was, and thought it sounded really great. Since then, I ran across the title again occasionally on various blogs/websites, but always forgot to write down the title to ensure that I actually remembered to look for it. But, I received a copy of it Sunday afternoon for my birthday! :) I'm reading the introduction right now, and can't wait to actually start the book! Oh, and have you heard of "North and South"? Well, come to find out, the same author wrote both!
Well, I'm off to go do some more reading! :) I'll tell you more about it Sunday, once I've read more!
Love you,
Bekah
Yay! Of course that's the one I'm talking about! :) I think I'm gonna cry...
Love ya!
I will gladly do so, Hannah dear! :)
Yep, that's the one (well, technically, it was written a few years before the war started, but it's the one that deals with that time period/the issues of that day)! Did you like the movie? I've heard it's good. Owen was telling me the storyline Sunday, and it sounds great!
Have a wonderful day,
Bekah
Bekah,
I wonder if we are talking of the same movie... They sound similar, but I've heard of more than one "North & South". :) I did enjoy the one I saw! It wasn't based on the war itself though. It was just during that era, and it was based in England. What was the one Owen was telling you of about?
I look forward to your details of the book! :)
I've now started the actual book; yay! :) The copy I received has so many extra features; it's so neat! I wanted to read the introduction, note on the text, etc., but was dying to actually start the book, too! Now I've read all the beginning info and am on chapter 4. So far, I love it! I really like Elizabeth Gaskell's writing style...she writes really well but is also very humorous and winsome. :)
As for North and South, I'm only familiar with one movie myself. I haven't seen it, but would really like to (and would like to read the book!). The movie I know of is from 2004 (and come to find out is actually a four part thing). Owen was telling me that it's about this girl (Margaret Hale) who is from the south and is forced to move north. There, she meets a cotton mill owner, John Thornton. She quickly dislikes him because she thinks he's harsh to his workers at the mill. Long story short, Owen said it's a lot like Pride and Prejudice...she realizes that he's not as bad as she once thought and they end up becoming a pair! :) Is that not the one you've seen? I'm pretty sure it's the only one I've heard of. What's the one about that's based in England?
Have a wonderful night, dear! :)
Oh, Bekah, that North & South thingy sounds really neat! :) I think I'm gonna have to look around for a copy of it. :)
Hannah, I've got to get off the computer at 10:34(long story), so if you have a sec let's chat. :) That is, if you get this in the next few minutes.
Haleigh,
It does sound good, doesn't it? :) I can't wait to see/read it! And now that I'm reading "Wives and Daughters", I already can't wait to see the movie! :)
Love you lots, sis! ;)
Bekah
P.S. The March sisters really need to get together again! The four of us haven't done anything together in a while....maybe we could all go to the English Rose or something! :)
Haleigh said...
It would be SO much fun to do something all together wouldn't it!? And the English Rose sounds like a wonderful idea! :) Name the date, dearie. lol
I can't wait get a copy of the book you're talking about! And one of the movie you've been speaking of too. :)
Mama and I had the house to ourselves yesterday and we watched Casablanca in her room, with popcorn, Coke, and fuzzy blankets. :) Have you seen Casablanca?
~H
Miss Rebekah Ann S. said...
Oh, it would be tons of fun!! :) We absolutely must do that very soon! :) Maybe we can talk about a day Sunday!
You should definitely get a copy of it; it's great! I'm now on chapter 6. :) I'm not sure where Owen got mine. It is definitely the copy to get, though, as it has so many extra features besides just the text of the book. It's from Oxford University Press, if that helps. :)
Oh, that sounds like such fun (speaking of, that's something else we have to do-all get together for a movie day!)! No, I haven't seen that; I've heard it's great, though! I'm familiar with the song in it, "As Time Goes By" (I used that phrase on my graduation display board), but that's about it. I'll have to see it!
Love you,
Bekah
well, girls it looks like you've made yourselves quite at home. I hope you stay a while! :)
Rebekah, yay! that's exactly the one I saw!! I don't know why I said England... I guess I got it mixed up with something else. :) But I love, love, LOVE it!!
Actually, I was looking it up the other day to see if "Wives & Daughters" and the "North & South" I've seen were written by the same person, and it turned out they were. :) Yay! I'm all excited now... :) And I will be looking forward to a full description of that darling lil' book. :)
That would be so fun to get together like that!! Let's really plan something... SOON!
Haleigh, aww how fun!! I love doing that with my mama and sisters. Such sweet memories! :)
I haven't seen Casablanca. Is it any good? I've heard of it... but that was a while ago. Is it another "favorite"? :)
your's ever-so truly...
Yes, let's talk about it on Sunday! And let's make it soon. :)I really want to catch up a little with you and Kelsey! It seems like forever since we've had a chance to talk. :)
Oh, Casablanca is so good. :) And a movie night sounds great! Are you planning a slumber party? haha
B, do you see the picture where Hannah posted from The Patriot, where Mel Gibson is holding the little girl's face in his hands? You would absolutely LOVE that scene! It's so sweet and I bawl every time I see it. Maybe I can find that scene on YouTube or something for you. :)
Gotta Go! My time is about up!
Yes, I'm totally for setting a date in the near... VERY near future. :) I agree Haleigh, it does seem like ages since we've all had a good, long chat. :)
Oh Bekah, you WOULD love that scene!! My eyes overflow just thinking of it! You should really see that movie.... :)
It is?? Oh, that's so awesome!! :) Yay; I'm really excited now, too! lol I, too, was SO surprised and excited when Owen told me that the same author (Elizabeth Gaskell) wrote both. What a small world it is! :) I'm so glad you liked the movie. It sounds absolutely wonderful; can't wait to see it!
I'm looking forward to telling you all about "Wives and Daughters", too! :)
I, too, LOVE watching movies like that with my Mom...so fun! :) She watched S&S with me Saturday; good times! :)
